What are the procedures for playing golf at a golf course?

I have only practiced at the shooting range and I have never stepped foot on a golf course. How do you know where to start and how do you know what hole to advance to next?

Probably best to find a friend who has played some golf and let him sort of guide you around the first time. It isn't too difficult and most courses are marked fairly well, but until you've done it a few times best to have a guide along.

Hi, I just made the transistion myself and trust me, youll get used to it in no time. Here are a few tips that i suggest...

    - Start off on an executive or par 3 course, it would be easier to learn and get the feel of playing on a course
    - Dont mark your scorecard untill the next hole (So you dont hold up people behind you)
    - There are usually markers that show you the area to tee off
    - You advance when your done playing the hole basically. If there are people ahead of you, just go up to the next hole and wait.
    - Make sure you dont become a disturbance

Thats pretty much it, just go and have fun and dont worry, im only 15 and starting and i have a blast going. It may seem weird at first buts its fine, so dont worry

All golf coures have score cards. On the score cards are layouts of the holes. Each hole is labeled.

if you can hit the ball fairly well at the range you maybe ready to go out and play

best way is to go with a friend or find someone to go with you that knows how to play. one thing that golfers hate is someone out playing golf that has no idea what they are doing and playing very slow.

there is no reason to play slow. if you stand there and look at the ball for 1 minute and take 15 practice swings that is not going to help you at all. so keep the pace going and when it is your turn to hit be ready and have your club out and hit the ball.

having someone to go with at least the first few times will be a big benefit and I think you will enjoy it more

all golf courses have signs to guide you through the holes. And dont step on other players line while on the green.
