If i could get insured on a golf gti mk2 when i am 17?

I was just wondering if i can get a golf gti mk2 when i am 17 and will be able to get insurance on it?
Also would the insurance company come out and check the car for any modifications?

Get as much resource as you can maybe is one option,however it could be quite time consuming,here

    Yes, unless you have an absolutely terrible driving record, you will be able to find insurance on your VW Golf, but it won't be cheap. The insurance agency probably won't 'come out' to check your car for mods, but they may ask you to bring it in to their office.
